Dear Parent/Carer,
next Thursday, 14th July, the children of year 6 will be attending a Crucial Crew event at Askham Bryan College. This event is organised by the North Yorkshire Police and teaches the children about keeping themselves safe around water, railways, and train crossings, for example. They will also be involved in workshops related to internet safety and coping with the transition to secondary school, along with other sessions about safety, risk taking and responsibility.
We will be travelling by coach, along with year 6 children from Fishergate Primary, to Askham Bryan College and we will set off at 12.15 and return at approximately 3.20. The event itself takes place between 1pm and 3pm. Because we are leaving early in the lunch period, all year 6 children will need packed lunches which we will eat in class prior to leaving. As the event does not finish until 3pm, we will not be back at school until approximately 3.20 so your child may be late walking home on the 14th July.
